Why I do this
I'm Ericka Stoltzfus, founder of EC Data Solutions and nonprofit donor database specialist.
Five years serving nonprofits taught me that clean data creates calm, confident organizations.
Most database problems aren't technical problems. They're stewardship problems. Because behind every report no one trusts is a system no one fully owns.
And I saw this time and time again across close to 200 nonprofits.
Different missions. Different budgets. The same handful of problems. The same capable, stretched-thin staff member who inherited a database they never asked to manage and is quietly afraid to touch it.
I started EC Data Solutions because that person deserves an expert in their corner, not a generalist learning on the job, but a specialist who takes the database off their plate so they can get back to the work they actually signed up for.
How I work
I think in systems, not one-time fixes. A database cleaned once and left alone drifts right back to chaos. So I work on ongoing monthly retainers: steady, documented stewardship that keeps your data healthy instead of rescuing it once a year.
I explain things in plain language. Database problems are operational realities, not failures, and you'll never feel talked down to or sold to. I tell you what's happening, what it means, and what I'd do about it.
I keep my practice small on purpose. Working with a handful of organizations is what lets me do careful, considered work, the kind that earns trust with something as sensitive as your donor records.

Cimientos Firmes
Once a year, I take on one nonprofit client at no charge, a newer or under-resourced organization with a real operational need and a limited budget.
Over three months, we build a working database system they can maintain on their own after our engagement: I configure the CRM, establish conventions and best practices, document core workflows, and train the staff.
Cimientos Firmes ("firm/steady foundation" in Spanish) is a name that carries deep meaning for me and it describes exactly what this work is.
It's my way of giving back to the organizations dedicated to giving back.

Outside the work
I was born and raised in Chihuahua, MX, and now call El Paso, TX home. I speak four languages, write for a local moms blog, make the occasional obscure Friends reference no one asked for, and play golf more than I'd like to admit.
Most of all, I'm a mom of two, the best reminders of what all of this is ultimately for.
